Out of School Programs

Entrepreneurship and Work Readiness

JA South Africa’s out-of-school youth programs are designed for young people who need practical pathways toward opportunity. Through entrepreneurship education, mentoring, and applied learning, participants build the confidence and capability to move from uncertainty toward action.

JA Digital Entrepreneurship Education Platform (JA DEEP)

JA DEEP is an interactive online entrepreneurship program for young African learners, including those in areas where JA is not present. It teaches practical business skills by guiding learners through starting and running a business that solves a community need, with mentorship from JA corporate volunteers.

JA Social Equity Program

This intensive four-day bootcamp is designed for out-of-school youth who are not in employment, education or training (NEET). With a strong focus on mental wellbeing and community development, the program equips participants with the skills, confidence and leadership mindset to create positive change in their lives and communities. Winning teams go on to receive three months of mentorship and coaching from industry leaders, turning their new skills into real world impact.

Youth Enterprise Development Program (YEDP)

This is a 10 session incubator style program for out of school unemployed youth between the ages of 18 – 35, facilitated over three months, during which students are required to start up and run a sustainable business.

Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program (EAP)

The program runs over six sessions at the end of the Enterprise Plus program and is designed for both high school learners and out-of-school youth. It helps participants scale their businesses beyond the program through training in goal setting, marketing and branding, basic bookkeeping and compliance, along with one-on-one coaching and final feedback presentations.
