Celebrating the Educators Who Inspire Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs

Great entrepreneurial journeys rarely begin with a business idea alone. They begin with encouragement, guidance, and educators who inspire young people to believe that they are capable of creating opportunities for themselves and their communities. Recognizing the vital role these leaders play, JA South Africa proudly hosted the Company Program Plus Principals Appreciation Brunch on June 10 at the InterContinental Hotel, O.R. Tambo Airport.

The event brought together school principals, heads of department, champion teachers, and valued partners who have been instrumental in the continued success of the Company Program Plus. Their commitment extends far beyond supporting a program. They create environments where innovation is encouraged, leadership is nurtured, and entrepreneurship becomes a pathway for young people to realize their full potential.

Throughout the morning, guests reflected on the remarkable achievements made possible through strong partnerships between schools, educators, JA South Africa, and the private sector. The brunch served as an opportunity to acknowledge the countless hours educators dedicate to mentoring learners, coordinating program activities, and creating opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom.

The Company Program Plus equips learners with practical business knowledge and hands on entrepreneurial experience, allowing them to build and manage their own student companies while developing essential skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, financial management, and problem solving. Behind every successful learner participating in the program is an educator who has invested time, energy, and unwavering support to help them succeed.

The appreciation brunch also highlighted the importance of collaboration in building South Africa's future workforce. Sustainable impact is only possible when schools, communities, nonprofit organizations, and corporate partners work together toward a shared vision of empowering young people with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in an evolving economy.

As the celebration concluded, attention turned toward the exciting milestones ahead. The upcoming Provincial and National Company of the Year Competitions will provide young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to showcase the businesses they have built, demonstrate their innovation and leadership, and compete alongside some of the country's brightest entrepreneurial talent. These competitions represent the culmination of months of dedication, creativity, and hard work by learners, supported every step of the way by committed educators.

JA South Africa extends its sincere gratitude to every principal, head of department, champion teacher, and partner whose passion continues to shape the success of the Company Program Plus. Their leadership is creating lasting opportunities for young people while strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem within schools across South Africa.

A special thank you goes to Absa Group for its continued partnership and investment in entrepreneurship education. Through this enduring collaboration, more young people are gaining the knowledge, confidence, and practical experience needed to become the innovative leaders, job creators, and changemakers our country needs. Together, we are empowering South Africa's next generation to build brighter futures through entrepreneurship.
