Vacancy
Suitably qualified and eligible candidates are invited to apply for the vacant permanent Financial Accountant position based at our Johannesburg office.
Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the key responsibilities for the Financial Accountant role include but are not limited to;
Maintain the general ledger, trial balance and cashbook; oversee day-to-day accounting processes, including transaction processing, month-end adjustments, reconciliations, and accounts payable and receivable
Administer the full payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries, benefits, statutory deductions, and payroll records
Prepare and submit all statutory and regulatory returns (PAYE, UIF, SDL, VAT and related submissions) and ensure ongoing compliance with financial legislation and organisational policies
Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, management accounts, and audit documentation
Maintain financial controls, safeguard financial records and assets, and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes
Maintain the asset register and depreciation schedule
Maintain and ensure bank administration and compliance
Maintain accurate and up to date the contracts register
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial accounting or similar finance roles
Minimum 3 years’ hands-on payroll administration experience
Experience with month-end and year-end close processes and reconciliations
Experience using accounting and payroll systems (e.g., Sage or similar)
Previous work in the non-governmental and/or not-for-profit sector advantageous
Skills
Strong general ledger accounting and reconciliation skills
Sound knowledge of payroll administration and statutory compliance (PAYE, UIF, SDL, VAT)
Good financial reporting and numerical analysis capability
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
Integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgement
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
Remuneration
The role is pegged at a total cost to the company salary of R550 000 per annum, inclusive of standard employee benefits.
